The constrained hazard sets
The board has 4 × 4 cells labelled 1–16 in row order. Choose 3, 4 or 5 hazards before starting. The game samples uniformly from complete hazard sets whose label product and label sum have the same remainder modulo 7. There are 72, 309 or 636 eligible sets, respectively. This is not an independently uniform hazard grid: the printed labels define the constraint, rather than revealing the hidden set.
Posterior probability and current value
The initial quoted gross value is 0.97 times the captured stake. After previous safe reveals, consider only hazard sets consistent with those observations. For a selected cell, p is the fraction of the remaining sets in which it is safe. A successful reveal with 0 < p < 1 changes the current gross value V to V/p. A certainly safe cell with p = 1 leaves V unchanged; a certainly hazardous cell with p = 0 is disabled. A hazard ends the round with zero gross return. The displayed percentage is rounded to one decimal place; the calculation uses the unrounded ratio of compatible-set counts.
Collecting, the cap and automatic banking
You may collect only after at least one safe reveal. Each cell is disabled if its possible safe-result gross value would be greater than 1000 times the captured stake; equality is allowed. The game banks automatically only when no eligible uncertain choice remains. The cap alone is not a rule that every capped state auto-collects. Eligible certainly safe cells do not increase the quoted value.
A first-reveal example
At the start with 3 hazards there are 72 eligible sets. Cell label 4 is safe in 61 of them, so its initial safe probability is 61/72. With stake 20 the quoted value starts at 19.4. A safe reveal changes it to 19.4 ÷ (61/72), approximately 22.89836. This is a quoted gross value before settlement and fractional carry, not guaranteed profit. Label 4 is the selected cell, not a declaration that it contains a hazard.
Initialization and manual refill
With no saved wallet, the browser initializes to 1000 play coins. An existing saved balance is retained, including zero. Refill is manual and available only while idle with balance below 10. It sets the balance to exactly 1000, rather than adding 1000, and does not clear fractional carry. There is no automatic refill.
Reloading and browser data
Reloading before settlement leaves the already captured stake deducted and ends the unfinished round without refund, payout, continuation or resume. The stored wallet remains, but the round does not. Controls reset to stake 20 and 3 hazards. Clearing cached resource files alone may leave localStorage intact; clearing this site’s data can remove the saved wallet and carry.
Frequently asked questions
Does a certainly safe reveal increase value?
No. When p = 1, dividing current value by p leaves it unchanged.
Can a certainly hazardous cell be chosen?
No. A cell with p = 0 is disabled.
Does the cap always trigger auto-collect?
No. Auto-banking requires that no eligible uncertain choice remains. Equality at the cap is allowed for a choice.
